Sea-Doo's RXT-X Named "Boat of the Month" By Boating World Magazine

BRP was recently awarded the prestigious Boating World magazine's “Boat of the Month” distinction for the 2008 Sea-Doo® RXT-X™ watercraft. In the March 2008 article Fearless Flying, editor Alan Jones put into words his perception of the new 255 hp three-seater musclecraft from BRP: the race-inspired Sea-Doo RXT-X.

“If Sea-Doo’s RXT-X doesn’t get your adrenaline pumping, don’t bother checking your pulse . . . because you probably don’t have one.” said Jones.

The new RXT-X is equipped with a larger, external intercooler, remapped ignition, and a new supercharger producing roughly 25% boost over the 215-hp version for an astounding 40-hp increase. This new power pack is nestled into the belly of the lightest three-seater musclecraft in the industry and transfers the power to the water with a race-proven top-loading intake grate and high performance water jet pump design.

Jones discussed the handling of the RXT-X by saying, “Overall, the handling is nimble and responsive.”

The new multi-point adjustable X-Team handlebar steering system offers better rider ergonomics and is equipped with a billet finger throttle and high performance VTS™ trim button housing.

Jones said of this system, “One of the features you love is that there’s a billet aluminum index finger control reminiscent of a gun’s trigger, which allows you to grip the handlebar more securely while maintaining precise control of all this power.”

Jones noted that the differentiating capability of the RXT-X is its best-in-the-industry acceleration. “Once you figure out how usable the power is, the fear factor washes away, and you find yourself reveling in the sheer exhilaration of accelerating faster than you’ve ever done before.”
